There are three types of mirrors -

(I) Plane mirror

(ii) Concave mirror

(iii) Convex mirror

When held close to the face -

  • Image formed by Plane mirror  is erect , virtual and is of the same size as the object .
  • Image formed by Concave mirror is erect , enlarged and virtual in nature.
  • Image formed by Convex mirror is virtual, upright and diminished.
