the three subatomic particles are
electron =these particles are negatively charged particles and the mass of electron is negligible .

proton =these particles are positively charged particles .the charge on proton is equal to the charge on electron

neutron =these particles have no charge
they are located in the nucleus of an atom

\boxed{HiyaaMatey!!!}

  • Electrons (e⁻), Protons (p⁺), Neutrons (n°) are the fundamental particles of an atom
  • Without these particles there is no concept of atom
  • Protons (p⁺) and neutrons (n°) are responsible for the mass of an atom
  • Mass of electrons (e⁻) is negligible compared to mass of protons and neutrons
  • they are measured in atomic mass unit (amu)
  • Electrons were discoverd by J.J Thomson and they carry negative charge, located outside the nucleus and mass is 1/1840 amu = 0.0005 amu
  • Protons were discoverd by Goldstein and they carry positive charge,located inside the nucleus at the centre of the atom....mass is 1 amu
  • Neutrons were discovered by James Chadwick, carry neutral charge, mass is 1 amu ...
