Western Coast and Eastern Coast are the two coastal plains of India.
Western Coast
:
(i) It is located between the Western Ghats and
the Arabian Sea.
(ii) It is a narrow plain.
(iii) Northern part
of the coast is called the Konkan while the Southern stretch is called Malabar Coast.
Eastern Coast
:
(i) It runs along the Bay of Bengal.
(ii) It is wide and level.
(iii) Northern part
of it is referred to as Northern Circar while the Southern part is known as Coromandel Coast.
(iv) Lake Chilika is an important feature along this coast.
