Tropical rainforest kind of vegetation is primarily found in the Equatorial region. This rainforest features five layers, each of which has different types of plants. They are as follows:

Emergent layer – comprising the topmost layer with very tall trees of height between 40 and 48 m.

Canopy layer – comprising tall trees though not as tall as above. They grow close to each other such that their tops interlock with each other to form a canopy. Several non-parasitic and parasitic plants are also found here.

Understorey layer – comprising short trees, epiphytes and lianas.

Shrub layer – comprising young trees, shrubs and ferns.

Ground layer – comprising fungi, mosses, ferns and small plants that need very little sunlight for existence.
