Halogen element, any six nonmetallic elements that constitute group 17 of the periodic table. They are fluorine(F), chlorine (cl), bromine(Br), iodine(I), astatine(At), and Tennessine (Ts). The reason for this is the halogen are also known own as Salt formers and when these chemically combine with metal they form salt.
