kidney has another function of secretion of erythropioetin and calcitrol hormone which help in erythropieosis in bone marrow and absorption of calcium from elementary tract.

On another hand,,

the liver secretes bile juice which is concerned with digestion, and

in the embryonic stages of baby, liver is the only site of erythropieosis (I. e. the process of formation of blood cells)
