HARAPPAN CIVILIZATION:

Harappan civilization is one of the oldest civilizations in the world. Harappan civilization is also known as Indus Valley Civilization because most of the settlements were in the Indus valley. Indus valley civilization is covered Northwest frontier and West region of India. States like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab etc were the part of Indus Valley Civilization. Harappan Civilization was discovered in 1921.

Sources of Harappan Civilization:

Excavations: The excavations conducted at the Indus Valley region is the major source for the Harappan Civilization. The excavations at Indus Valley Civilization were conducted by Archaeological Survey of India under Sir Marshall. Harappa was the first place excavated in this civilization. Hence, this civilization is known as "Harappan Civilization".

Great Bath and Granaries: The Great bath discovered at Mohenjadaro was another major source of Harappan Civilization. The great bath was a large building constructed with burnt bricks. The use of Great bath was not mentioned clearly. Whether it was used for bathing or religious purpose. Granaries were also the other sources for this cuvilization. The granaries were found at Kalibangan and Lothal.

Other sources include Terracota figurines, seals, burial system, agriculture etc...
