The crops sown im these two seasons are also called Kharif crops and rabi crops.

The word 'Kharif' means autumn in Arabic.

The kharif seasons starts with the arrival of the monsoon in India.

This season is given the name kharif because it's harvest coincides with autumn season in india.

Kharif crops includes bajra, jowar, paddy, maize, pluses, suger cane and turmeric.
