Gold and Platinum do not corrode easily.

(i) Corrosion of aluminium is useful. A protective layer of Aluminium oxide is formed on the surface of metal which renders metal passive and prevents its further corrosion.

(ii) Corrosion of iron is a serious problem. Every year large amount of money is spend to replace damage iron and steel structures. So, here, corrosion is a serious problem.
