i. Respiration - Respiration is a process by which humans and animals inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide into the environment.

ii. Decomposition - Decomposition is a process by which dead organisms get decomposed and break down into small organic matter, further releasing carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.

The man-made process which returns CO₂ to the atmosphere is -

i. Combustion - Examples can be burning of fossil fuels, forest fires, etc.
