  • It plays an important role in fixing the atmospheric nitrogen . It protects the roots from pathogens present in the soil . It provide certain antibiotics and growth substances to the plant.

Azospirillum-

  • They are found inside the roots of the plant (non-free-living) where they fix the atmospheric nitrogen. This is used in wetland areas.
