The two phenomena involved in the ‘formation of rainbow’ are internal reflection, refraction and dispersion.

Explanation:

When the sunlight falls on the cloud having water droplets, the droplets acts as the mirror and the white light of sunlight incident on the droplet will undergo reflection and refraction followed by dispersion.

As the white light is the composition of all the seven colors due to difference in the medium, and different angle of refractions of seven colors dispersion takes place i.e., the ‘white light’ is separated into seven colors which forms the rainbow.
