Primitive prokaryotes and eukaryotes are the two types of cells based on complexity. The eukaryotes are more complex than the other. Eukaryotes are more evolutionarily recent while prokaryotes are evolutionarily ancient.  Eukaryotes also differ based on presence of nucleus which is unclear in the other. Bacteria and archaea are prokaryotic organisms while everything else is eukaryotes.
