Pectoral and Pelvic gridle

Explanation:

There are two types of girdles in the human body - (i) the pectoral and (ii) the pelvic girdle.

  • The pectoral girdle is formed by the scapula and the collar bone and is two in number. They are located in the upper axis of the body and are part of the joint of the shoulder.
  • The pelvic girdle is formed by the fusion of three bones-ilium, ischium and pubis-and is a single pelvic girdle located in the pelvic region. It helps in the articulation of the femur (the thigh bone) with the axial skeleton.
