The names of the two types of plant tissues are:

Meristematic type of tissue and the Permanent type of tissue.

Meristematic Tissue:

  • Meristematic type of tissue is a major tissue that is capable of actively dividing throughout its lifetime.
  • These tissues are made up of a living type of cells have contained large nuclei without vacuoles.
  • These meristematic tissues divide to give rise to leaves, root and shoot tips, flowers, etc.
  • The cells of this type of tissue help in increasing the girth and height of the plant.

Permanent tissue:

  • This type of tissue is also known as Non-Meristematic type tissue.
  • Such tissues are matured tissues and are incapable of diving actively. Hence, they are termed permanent tissues.
  • There are various types of permanent tissues that perform different specialized functions.
  • For example Parenchyma, Sclerenchyma, and Collenchyma are different types of permanent tissues.

Hence, the names of the two types of plant tissues are Meristematic tissues and Permanent tissues.
