It occurs within a flower or between two flowers of the same plant. They don't need any agent for pollination. Pollen grains are produced in small numbers. For e.g. : Hibiscus and Mustard

ii) Cross Pollination :

It occurs between two flowers born on different places but of the same species. Agents such as wind, water or insects are required for pollination. Pollen grains are produced in large numbers. For e.g. Papaya and Watermelon.
