Terrestrial  plants  are plants that grow on land habitats like desert, mountains, and grasslands. Terrestrial plants are of three types mesophyte, xerophyte, and hydrophyte.

Mango tree, Banyan tree, are plants that have medium size roots and small leaves. These plants or tress need moderate amount of  water to survive are known as Mesophytes.  

Cactus, Babool, plants have deep long roots and spongy, spiny leaves. These plants or trees need less amount of water to survive are known as Xerophyte.

Other plants are hydrophyte that is commonly known as aquatic plants. plants like lotus, hydra, water lily need maximum amount of water to survive.
