Answer:

"The Bay of Bengal"  located to the East of the "Indian ocean"  and the "Arabian Sea" located on the West side are two prominent water bodies that affect the climate of India. The monsoon currents blow from both seas. Apart from giving rains in the "southwest monsoons", during the months from September to December, the currents in the "Bay of Bengal" are towards southwest that produces severe cyclones that have speeds of about 110 km per hour. The most recent damage was by the cyclone Gaja.
