Telangana is part of Hyderabad that merged with the Andhra state.

In 2001, movement revived the K Chandrasekhar Rao and quit the Telugu Desam as well as formed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

The Congress in 2004 joined hands with Rao, promising separate Telangana but later backtracked.

Many number of women participated in Telangana udhyamam.

Women’s organizations had survived strong opposition and established branches in Hyderabad.
