- Sarojini Naidu was the first Indian woman who became the President of the Indian National Congress she was involved in the March of Darshana Satyagraha which was one of the movements held in the civil disobedience movement.
- Mithuben Hormusji petit participated in Mahatma Gandhi Dandi March. She fought for India's freedom her ancestors have worked as shipping clerks and interpreters for the British East India company.
