The types of plastids are Chromoplasts,Chloroplasts and leucoplasts.
Chromoplasts give colour to flowers and fruits.Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll and perform photosynthesis.Leucoplasts store oil,starch and protien granules.

1) Chloroplast :-
* Carry photosynthesis.
* Contain chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments.
* These are green pigments.
* Found mainly in leaves and green stem. They trap light for photosynthesis.
2) Chromoplast :-
* Carry non-photosynthesis.
* Contain fat soluble carotenoid pigments.
* They have red, orange or yellow pigments.
* Give colour to fruits, carrot, red peppy and flowers.
3) Leucoplast :-
* Carry non-photosynthesis.
* They have capacity to develop pigments when required.
* Colourless as they lack any pigments.
* Abundant in storage organs like roots, seeds and young leaves.
Ex :- Amyloplast stores starch, Elaioplasts stores store fats and oils. Aleuroplast store proteins.
