In the 1st interval it travelled 10miles at 12miles per hour
so time taken to travel 10miles =10/12=5/6hours

In the next interval it travelled x miles at 10miles per hour
so time taken to travel x miles =x/10hours
Total distance travelled in both the intervals
= (10+ x) miles
Total time taken to travel (10+x) miles
=(5/6 + x/10)hours =(25+3x)/30 hours
