Like Arun Raj, I too had a cat that loved fruit…melons like cantaloupe were her favorite. I think even though we categorize animals into herbivores, carnivores and omnivores, there is a good bit of cross over. I have seen herbivorous animals eating road kill, and I have seen strict carnivores like cats eating fruit, so needless to say any omnivorous animal will eat anything that isn’t tied down. You asked for examples of omnivorous animals. Those would be: humans and chimpanzees, bears, pigs, most birds, badgers, coatis, civets, hedgehogs, opossums, skunks, sloths, squirrels, raccoons, chipmunks, mice and rats, ants, crabs and lobsters, box turtles, catfish, coyotes, dolphins, foxes, manatees, sea otters and many others
