Sonpur Fair: "Biggest Fair"
The Sonpur Fair is held on the full-moon day in the month of kartik in Sonepur. It is situated in bihar. It is held in the confluence of the rivers Ganga and Gandak. During this fair, People and visitors take a holy dip at the convergence of these two scared rivers to pay tribute to Harihar Nath Mahadev. It is also known as 'Harihar Kshetra Mela'.
It attracts visitors from foreign countries too. It is the biggest cattle fair of Asia and stretches on from fifteen days to one month at least 31 days.
Many farm animals can be bought at this fair. All Breeds of dogs, Buffaloes, donkeys horses, rabbits , goats and many other types of animals are on sale here.
Numerous stalls are also set up at the grounds of the Sonpur fair. One can find a wide variety of goods in these stalls, ranging from from garments to furniture, toys, utensils, agricultural equipment, jewelry and handicrafts. Other Attraction of the fair include traditional Indian food stalls, folk shows and magic shows.
There are many theater which have come from another State and also from another Towns such as Mumbai, Kolkata, or Rajasthan.
In the past, the Sonpur fair used to attract traders from places as distant as Central Asia.
Interesting Fact: Sonpur fair is biggest fair in Asia continent.

सोनीपुर मेला सोनपुर में कार्तिक के महीने में पूर्णिमा दिवस पर आयोजित किया जाता है। यह बिहार में स्थित है। यह गंगा और गंधक नदियों के संगम में आयोजित किया जाता है। इस मेले के दौरान, हरिहर नाथ महादेव को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित करने के लिए लोग और आगंतुक इन दो डरावनी नदियों के अभिसरण पर एक पवित्र डुबकी लेते हैं। इसे 'हरिहर क्षेत्र मेला' भी कहा जाता है।

इस मेले में कई खेत जानवर खरीदे जा सकते हैं। कुत्तों, बफेलो, गधे के घोड़े, खरगोश, बकरियां और कई अन्य प्रकार के जानवरों की सभी नस्लें यहां बिक रही हैं।
सोनपुर मेले के मैदानों पर कई स्टालों भी स्थापित किए गए हैं। कपड़ों से फर्नीचर, खिलौने, बर्तन, कृषि उपकरण, गहने और हस्तशिल्प से लेकर इन स्टालों में कई प्रकार के सामान मिल सकते हैं। मेले के अन्य आकर्षण में पारंपरिक भारतीय खाद्य स्टालों, लोक शो और जादू कार्यक्रम शामिल हैं।
ऐसे कई रंगमंच हैं जो एक अन्य राज्य से आए हैं और मुंबई, कोलकाता या राजस्थान जैसे अन्य शहरों से भी हैं।
अतीत में, सोनपुर मेले मध्य एशिया के रूप में दूरदराज के स्थानों से व्यापारियों को आकर्षित करने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता था।
