Answer:

Let the money saved in February be 'x' and that of March be 'y'.

According to the question, She saved Rs. 800 more in March than in February.

Interpreting it as an equation we get,

⇒ y = x + 500

Also it is given that Money saved in March is 5 times the money saved in February.

⇒ y = 5x

⇒ x + 500 = 5x

⇒ 500 = 5x - x

⇒ 4x = 500

⇒ x = 500/4 = Rs. 125

Therefore money saved in February ( x ) is Rs. 125.

\huge{\mathfrak{\red{\underline{Answer :-}}}}

a = 125 Rupees

Assuming :-

The money saved in February be 'a' and that of 'b'.

Given :-

She saved Rs. 800 more in March than in February.

Interpreting it as an equation we get,

⇒ b = a + 500.......[1]

Also it is given that Money saved in March is 5 times the money saved in February.

b = 5a.......[2]

Solution :-

Put value of y from equation 1 in equation 2.

a + 500 = 5a

500 = 5a - a

4a = 500

a = 500/4

a = 125 Rupees

\huge{\boxed{\mathfrak{\red{\underline{a = 125 Rupees}}}}}
