Answer:
In case of profit, the equation is:
308 = 1.12 CP1 EQ 1
For loss, the equation is:
308 = 0.88 CP2 EQ 2
Formula used for eq1 and 2
Profit % =[ ( SP- CP) ÷ CP] × 100
Loss % = [ (CP-SP) × CP] × 100
Total loss percent =
[(CP1+CP2-1.12CP1-0.88CP2)/(CP1+CP2)] *100
=( CP2-CP1)/(CP1+CP2) *12. EQ3
FROM 1,2 and 3 applying componendo and dividendo formula,
The total loss percent =
(1.12-0.88)/(1.12+0.88) ×12
= 1.44 %
