Given - Calculation done by Bhumika as per directions of Nandini.

Obtained number = 7 times the number thought by Bhumika.

Find - Number that Bhumika thought of.

Solution - Representing the given calculation in equation form -

Let the number Bhumika thought be represented by X.

Now,

((x-2/3)*6)+8 = 7x

Solving the equation to find value of X.

((3x-2/3)*6+8 = 7x

((3x-2)*2)+8 = 7x

(6x-4)+8 = 7x

6x +4 = 7x

X = 4.

Hence, the number thought by Bhumika is 4.
