To find: The distance covered by her on foot

Solution: Given that,

Total distance between school and Nandini's house = $\frac{9}{10} km$

She covered some distance by walking and rest $\frac{1}{2} km$ by bus.

∵ Distance covered by her on foot = Total distance - Distance covered by bus

⇒ $(\frac{9}{10} - \frac{1}{2}) km$

⇒ $\frac{9 \ - \ 5}{10} = \frac{4}{10} \ or \ \frac{2}{5} km$

Hence, she walked $\frac{2}{5} \ km$ .
