THE COMPOUND FORMED ON HEATING A MIXTURE OF IRON FILLINGS AND SULPHUR IS FERROUS SULPHIDE OR IRON SULPHIDE.
IF DILUTE HYDROCHLORIC IS ADDED TO ABOVE COMPOUND THEN HYDROGEN SULPHIDE WILL BE FORMED. THE REACTION WHICH UNDERGOES THIS CHANGE IS GIVEN BELOW
FES + 2HCL -------->>>> FECL2 + H2S
