Hii There!!
Here is the chemical reaction taking place:-
NaOH + H2O➡Na+ + OH- [ions will be formed]
This reaction is an exothermic reation.
Since, sodium hydroxide is a strong base and completely dissociate into aqueous medium and forms Na and OH ions.
