The balanced chemical equation:

\bold{2 \mathrm{NaOH}+\mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{SO}_{4} \rightarrow \mathrm{Na}_{2} \mathrm{SO}_{4}+2 \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}}

The reaction of sodium hydroxide with sulphuric acid results the formation of sodium sulphate and water. This is a reaction of acid and base. Therefore it is called as neutralization reaction as it forms salt and water as the product.

To balance a chemical equation we need to add coefficients with the reactant and products in such a way that at both side, there are same number of atoms.
