Let,

The no. of 10₹ notes and 5₹ noted be x and y

2₹ notes = 5 = 5*2 = ₹10

Acc. to the given first condition,

10x + 5y + 10 = 220

10x + 5y = 220-10

10x + 5y = 210

2x + y = 42

According to the given 2nd condition,

x = 6 + y

x - y = 6...(2)

Adding eqn (1) & (2)

3x = 48

x = 48/3

x = 16

Put x =16 in eqn (2)

x - y = 6

16 - y = 6

16 - 6 = y

y = 10

Answer:

The no. of ₹10 and ₹5 notes is 16 and 10
