While on a picnic you and your friends decide to go sailing, unfortunately, your boat capsizes in a violent storm. However all of you manage to swim to safety. Give a vivid account of the incident.

Our school normally starts in the second week of June and since we were busy studying the whole month of May because we are in Std.10 this year and it is considered to be the most important year of our lives.

My school friends' group thought that all the studying had really exhausted us and we needed a short break so we decided to go for a one day picnic to a lake resort near Neral.

We left for the picnic on Thursday so that we could rest for two days before school. On reaching the picnic spot our first activity for the day was to go sailing along the river. The sky was cloudy, but the boatman, said that this is normal weather in June and we should not worry.

As our sailing started, it also started drizzling and in a few minutes it started raining heavily with strong winds that made the boat rock violently. We could not return and the wind carried our boat further into the lake. The next ten seconds were shocking, in one strong gust of wind the boat flew high and capsized right in the middle of the river.

For the next few minutes all that could be heard was screaming and yelling of the whole gang. In the next second the life guards jumped into the river and swam towards us and each of them helped two friends to swim safely to the shore. The boatman brought the boat back on his own.

Back on the shore we were taken to our tents to change into dry clothes and given some hot tea and snacks to control our fear and shivering. We were scared with this near death experience and had to call our parents to take us back home.

As we shared this experience with our class in school some of them began to think of us as heroes who overcome difficult situations and come out alive and smiling.

Explanation:

Stroms have always cuaused damage to life and property but how much fear they can cause I did not know until one day my father and I were caught in a strom while we were out fishing in the sea.

We had left our home very early on that day. The sea was calm, the sky was clear and the sun bright. Brids were flying happily in the air and there was a pleasant breeze. Thus, the weather looked fine and we were sure that we could return home safely.Bur we found our later that ir was the worst day in the life of my father as a fisherman and in mine as well.

We had hone quite far in our small boat. We had caughr a lot of fisn but we were not satisfied. So we continued to fish until we suddenly oberved some dark clouds gathering in the beautiful sky. We were now allarmed. We wanted to return nome as quickyl as possible . But we had gone too far and it was not possibl to hone so quickly.

Suddenly the breeze stopped blowing. Our boat would not move. We were frightened. Shortly agterwards there was sudden wind.We were now sure that we would have troubles. Te wind continued and trrned into a strom. the waves of athe sea rose ot about five to siz feet high. The sea was now inddeed very rough. Our boat was tossing against the waves so villently that many times my father an I were about to be thrown into the angry sea.

Then as suddenly as it began, The storm ceased and all was quiet again. Our hopes were revised. We then begin to row our boat and fiinally reached home safely. We had indeed had a very narrow escape.
