Life has a weird way of making us come face to face with our fears even when we think we are free of them. My son always had a phobia of meeting and talking to strangers. Recently, one day, while I was waiting at the bus stop, his bus came but my son did not come out of it.
I was scared and I blew up the bus in-charge for being so careless. I rushed to the school. Thankfully, I found my son just outside the gate of the school, sitting with a very old woman, holding her hand.
At going close, my son told me that while he was getting on the bus, he saw this old woman and did not have the courage to not help her, even though she was a stranger.
We took her home, fed her, had her change clothes then had her settle in an old age home and found her family. My son’s efforts made a woman find her family back.
It affected me intensely. I felt pride and humbleness. I thanked the Lord for this.
