    Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar lived in West Bengal in a small village. He belonged to a very poor family, his family was terribly affected by poverty. Due to this, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar did not have even books to study, and he loved studying, he wanted to study- but how would he?

    Then one day Ishwar asked his school friends, "Do you study in the day or night?" His friends of course said "We study in daytime." Ishwar then started borrowing his friends books and studied in night under the street's lamp. He of course never could sleep.

    Studying like this, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar became a very big scholar.
