I've never been this excited before for anything than my recent birthday, that was on 30th. Well I'm always excited for my birthdays but this time, it was special. As I had decided for many plans and due to lockdown all my friends were in town and not in respective college's hostels. So, I'd started making plans a month before and was very excited. I had ordered boots, as this time I wanted jeans to be my attire unlike last time, a pretty little dress.
So, things were all set and all left to purchase was a beautiful top for the occasion.
But suddenly, on 22nd, my aunty called as my uncle was not well and was transferred into ICU, after 2 consecutive heart attacks. We were all tensed and rushed to her town (Udaipur to Jodhpur). We reached around 8 in the evening and decided to meet him the next day, as no one was allowed after 8.
But on the following day he died. I was heartbroken and everyone was under shock. Things were very difficult to handle for 3 days. I have a cousin of my age, and I cannot even imagine the loss of a father and it was this biggest pain which she was going through. Days were very difficult to pass.
On 27th, a news came that in our neighbourhood, there was a robbery. We were all afraid that the house is all vacant and any mishapenning can take place. So on 28th, early morning my elder sister along with me and my younger brother, we departed for Udaipur.
Somewhere there was still a ray of hope for me to celebrate my birthday. But upon reaching home, I caught high fever, headache and body pain. Upon testing I was found Typhoid positive. And it was impossible for me to be fine till my birthday. And thus, I wasn't even able to eat a cake on my birthday. And the worst part, till now I haven't cut my birthday cake, it was Brownie which I sliced when the clock struck 12. As I wasn't allowed to eat cake.
