The Inter State Council was formed on 28th May ’90 by order of President of India by recommendation of Sarkaria Commission.

Features:

1.    This is a constitutional body means it was form under the direction of Constitution of India.

2.    It is most powerful & supportive body who works on the strengthening the relationship of centre –states.

3.    It’s most significant organization who works for good interstate relations.

4.    It provides the platform to both centre & states to form & execute he policies in favour to progress of the nation like GST bills.

5.    It always help to resolve the issues between the states  like reservation & water or any use of natural resources

6.    It helps to promote & support the federalism in the nation.

7.     Its works under the leadership & chairmanship of PM.
