Answer:

As a daily commuter who travels to and from school everyday, I have become familiar with the ups and downs of using the public transport system frequently. I have particularly good insight into both the use of the trains and buses, seeing as I take one of each to get to school and one of each to get back home.

As I leave the house, I check my watch. Realising that the bus will be here at any second, I run towards the bus stop. When I get there, I see the other regular passengers of the 51 bus that heads towards Reservoir Station everyday waiting patiently. I try to catch my breath as I wait for the bus, relieved that I did not miss it. Missing this bus would have meant that being late for school, seeing as the next one comes in half an hour.

The bus pulls up, waiting for me and the other passengers to board. So far, all is good. Until I see that every one of the seats has been filled, with at least five people already standing. It is a twenty minute bus ride to the station, meaning that I have to stand for that duration while carrying an extremely heavy school bag on my back. Sighing, I swipe my ticket and find a place to stand, but as I walk down the bus, the engine roars to life and the bus starts moving. Panicked, I grab for a nearby pole to avoid falling over, only to realise that it is coated in some sort of oily film. I manage to hold on to the back of someone’s seat, earning a glare from its resident.
