Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 3x - 4y = 7--------eq ( 1 ) and

5x + 2y = 3--------eq ( 2 )

By equating coefficients of variables,

Multiplying eq ( 1 ) by 2 and eq ( 2 ) by 4 ,we get

2 × [ 3x - 4y = 7 ] ⇒ 6x - 8y = 14--------eq ( 3 ) say. and

4 × [ 5x + 2y = 3 ] ⇒ 20x + 8y = 12------eq ( 4 ) say.

Now adding eq ( 3 )+ eq ( 4 ) ,we get

6x - 8y + 20x + 8y = 14 + 12

⇒ 26x = 26

⇒ x = 26 / 26

⇒ x = 1.

On substituting " x = 1 " in eq ( 1 ) ,we have

3 ( 1 ) - 4y = 7

⇒3 - 4y = 7

⇒ - 4y = 7 - 3

⇒ - 4y = 4

⇒ y = 4 / (- 4 )

⇒ y = - 1.

∴The variables of xand y are 1 and - 1 is the answer.
