C.p of the suit= ₹1470
profit= 10%
Therefore s.p = ₹ 1470×(100 + 10)/100
= ₹ 1470 × 11 / 10
= ₹ 1617
Discount = 12.5 %
Therefore m.p should be = ₹ 1617 × 100/(100 - 12.5)
=₹ 1617 × 100/87.5
= ₹ 1848

The marked price of suit is Rs.1527.27

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the marked price be x

Discount = 12.5%

So, cost after discount = x-12.5\%(x)=x-\frac{12.5}{100}x=0.875x

Profit = 10%

Cost including profit = 0.875x+10\%(0.875x)=0.875x+\frac{10}{100}(0.875x)=0.9625x

We are given that it costs 1470

So, 0.9625x=1470

x=\frac{1470}{0.9625}

x=1527.27

Hence The marked price of suit is Rs.1527.27
