So laura picked 3x/8 apples ,

Together they picked 440 apples, Or

☛ x + 3x / 8 = 440

☛ 8x + 3x = 3520

☛ 11x = 3520

☛ x = 320

Nate picked = 3x/8 apples ==> 3×320/8

==> 3 × 40

==> 120 apples

Hence, Laura picked 320 apples while Nate picked 120 apples.
