Natural gas is a fossil fuel that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. If this is true then why does it smell when there is a leakage from a gas cylinder used for cooking at home?

LPG is liquified petroleum gas which is used in domestic purposes in cylinders
yes it's true that when it is leaked it does smell so that to prevent any fire cases which could result in a blast!
There is a substance added to the Gas which is
"Ethyl Mercaptan"
