Hi There,
It is So Beacause Natural gas deposits are often found near oil deposits because deposits of natural gas are close to the Earth’s surface and are usually dwarfed by nearby oil deposits. Deeper deposits (formed at higher temperatures and under more pressure) have more natural gas than oil. The deepest deposits can be made up of pure natural gas.

you must be knowing that mineral oil is mainly the crude petroleum oil...It contains mixtures of alkanes, alkenes and alkynes hydrocarbons. And natural gas is also an alkane hydrocarbon (CH4). Now, u should know that, natural gas is also a part of that crude oil only but the only difference is that crude oil is in liquid state whereas natural gas is in the gaseous state...It happens as follows,,,
Since crude oil is found deep inside the earth, trapped in rocks, they are subjected to excessive heat...This heat causes some volatile parts of the crude oil to evaporate...Thus, these particles that evaporate due to excessive heat, just over the petroleum oil, are only the natural gas,,,
