It is true that natural rubber has a peculiar odour and white colour. It is made from latex which is a runny, white liquid. Latex oozes from certain plants when they are cut. 99% of the natural rubber is made from the latex collected from the rubber tree or the tree species called Hevea brasiliensis. Natural rubber is also known as India Rubber or caoutchouc. It has the property of elasticity.
