Natural rubber is an addition polymer that is obtained as a milky white fluid known as latex from a tropical rubber tree. Natural rubber is from the monomer isoprene (2-methyl-1,3-butadiene), which is a conjugated diene hydrocarbon as mentioned above..

Hey !!

Natural Rubber is obtained from a variety of shaubs and vines called rubber tree. The plants yields a milky suspension known as latex.

EXTRA INFORMATION

The empirical formula of natural rubber is C₅H₈. It is a hydrocarbon as it burns in air finally to give carbon dioxide and water. In the absence of air, heating rubber produces isoprene. Isoprene is chemically 2-methyl- 1,3 - butdiene.

Natural rubber is brittle at low temperature ( < 283 K ) and becomes soft at high temperature ( > 335 K )
