• They serve us livelihood:We are dependent on the natural vegetation for our livelihood. It is assumed that about 2 billion people depend on forests for shelter,livelihood,food and fuel security.
• They are biodiversity hotspots:Forests are home to more than 80%of different kinds of species, according to the type of natural vegetation.
• The types of Natural Vegetation in our country are:
• Tropical Evergreen Forests- Serve us with valuable trees like rosewood, mahogany,ebony,etc;which helps to provide many recreational facilities with raising economic conditions.
• Tropical Deciduous Forests- Sal,teak,Myrobalan;making of furniture and matchsticks respectively.
• Tropical Desert Forests- Babool;tanning hides of skin and leather.
• Littoral Forests- Mangrove,Hantal;making of boats.
• Mountain Forests:Chir pine,Fir,etc.
