here \: a = 1 \:  \:  \:  \: b =  - 4 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: c = 3 \\  \\ as \: we \: know \: that \: d =  {b}^{2}  - 4ac \: (discriminate) \\  \\ d =  ({ - 4})^{2}  - 4(1)(3) \\  \\ d = 16 - 12 \\  \\ d = 4 \\  \\ since \: the \: root \: is \: positive \: so \: the \\ nature \: of \: the \: root \: is \\ real \: and \: distinct.
