Nayveli Thermal Power Station 1 and 2 are in Nayveli, Tamil Nadu.
It has a disposition of 600 MW and the second one with 1470 MW.
They were built in July 1962 and September 1970 respectively.
Nevyeli Lignite Corporation is the operator of both the thermal plants.
The project is unique as there is no other lignite power plant in India.
