The Sun, the Moon and all other objects shining in the night sky are called Celestial Bodies.The moon, stars and planets cannot be seen during the daytime because the very bright light of the Sun does not allow us to see them.Stars are celestial bodies that are very big and hot. They have their own heat and light, which they emit in large amounts. The Sun is also a Star. we do not feel heat or lightof stars, and they look so tiny because they are very far from us.Constellations are various patterns formed by different groups of stars. It is also called the Pole Star. It always remains in tthe north direction in the sky. We can locate the Pole Star with the help of Saptarishi. The Sun, eight planets, satellites and some other celestial bodies known as asteroids and meteoroids form the Solar System.Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are very close to the sun and are made up of rocks. They are called Inner Planets.Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are very far away from the sun and are made up of gases. They are called Outer Planets. Venus is considered as ‘Earth’s twin’ because its size and shape are quite similar to that of Earth.Till the year 2006, Pluto was also considered a planet. But then it was demoted to the status of a ‘dwarf planet‘.Earth's shape is described as a Geoid. ia sattelite is
