Actually mass is the amount of matter contained in a body. And weight occurs due to presence of gravity.
Ex:A body having mass of 1kg weighs 9.8 newtons on earth. And on mars it would be 3.6 newtons.[w=m*g; g(earth)=9.8m/s^2; g(mars)=3.6m/s^s]
